He lost his job with about 7 months remaning in the case, and could not afford the high payments any longer. In order to help the clients to obtain their discharge and to help the husband uphold his requirement to pay the bankruptcy pursuant to the divorce decree, I was able to get the judge to grant permission to lower their payment. Both husband and wife will receive their Chapter 13 discharge, husband will be able to satisfy his divorce decree requirements, and both clients are happy.

Right before the trustee was about to leave, she called the case and I entered an appearancethe Trustee was going to dismiss as to this client only, but before closing the file, I asked her to review if she could recommend the Plan for the husband (who had not defaulted). The trustee had to review the case to see if any issues remained, and while she was looking it over, client walked in the door with her social security card! I managed to give my client JUST enough extra time to prevent her from being dismissed from the case. The Plan is now recommended.

The client needed to use those funds to repair his roof, get a new heating system, and pay medical bills. The Trustee objected to the client's use of these funds and wanted those funds paid into his Chapter 13 for his creditors. I successfully argued over the Trustee's objection and the judge granted our motion to allow the client to keep the entire amount to pay for expenses he could not cover without these funds.

She was unaware of the program and VERY glad to get the information so they can rebuild their life together here in Indianapolis.

I directed the prosecutor to the client, who was able to get that meeting done while I delayed her meeting with the trustee. She was very happy, as the prosecutor said she couldn't have fit her in at any other time and the meeting would have had to be delayed for several weeks.

Cottage Grove Ave. #406, Chicago, IL 60619 Reports: During last visit this older client told me that he fell, hurt his ribs and it's difficult for him to walk now. I asked him if he has broken ribs, how and where he injured himself, and whether he intends to sue anyone. Client said he felt at home and just bruised his ribs. However he still wanted to come in to see me and pay $100 check in additional to his regular debit card deductions. I thanked him for his visit, told him that I appreciate his efforts and I walked him to the front door.
